IPOH, 20 JUNE 2019 - The state government has allocated RM3 million to 261partially-aided government schools throughout the state for this year.
Perak Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu said the allocation would benefit 85,825 students for the organising of a variety of appropriate and beneficial activities and programmes.
"The state government gives the schools the freedom to determine how they want to spend the money.
"Whether to organise certain programmes or to buy essential items, everything is up to the school concerned," he said.
He said this in his speech at the Presentation Ceremony of Allocation to Partially-Aided Government Schools in Perak at Dewan Serbaguna, Bangunan Perak Darul Ridzuan.
Also present were State Exco members, State Assembly Speaker Dato’ Ngeh Koo Ham and State Financial Officer Dato' Abu Bakar Said.
He said this year the state government has allocated RM61.35 million for the education sector and it is the largest allocation in the state budget.
"Of that total, RM16.85 million is for new programmes aimed at improving the quality of education for the people of Perak," he said.
Commenting further, he stressed that the state government has given priority to the field of education irrespective of race or religion.
We are fully committed to the education of the people of Perak regardless of race, to enable them to obtain a good education in order to improve their families’ livelihoods as well as helping to take the state and nation towards a brighter future,” he said.
