Courtesy Visit By Sarawak State Government Delegation In Conjunction With SUKMA And Para SUKMA XXI 2024: 24 April 2024

SUKMA 2024 will be held from 17 to 24 August, while Para SUKMA from 20 to 28 September.

IPOH, 24 April 2024 - The Perak State Government today received a courtesy visit from the Sarawak State Government delegation in conjunction with the Malaysia Games (SUKMA) and Para SUKMA XXI, Sarawak 2024 at Bilik Gerakan, Bangunan Perak Darul Ridzuan.

The delegation’s arrival was welcomed by State Education, Higher Education, Youth and Sports Committee chairman Khairudin Abu Hanipah, accompanied by Deputy State Secretary (Management) Dato' Nor Sham Rahman.

According to Khairudin Abu Hanipah, the main purpose of the visit was to deliver an invitation to the Perak State Government to participate in the Sarawak SUKMA and Para SUKMA XXI games, besides promoting the 21st edition of SUKMA and Para SUKMA scheduled to take place next August and September in Sarawak.

"The state government always monitors and supports all preparations of the athletes and contingent for the SUKMA games this time.

"The athletes who have been selected for the games are important assets of Perak, as they have sacrificed much in terms of time, energy and all their strength to achieve success in their chosen sports. The state government also places high hopes on them to contribute the best medals," he said in his speech.

The Sarawak State Government delegation was led by Sarawak Deputy Minister of Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development (Youth and Sports) Dato' Gerald Rentap Jabu.

In his speech, he said a total of 37 sports comprising 484 events will be contested in the games that will be held in nine divisions in Sarawak, i.e. Kuching, Samarahan, Serian, Sri Aman, Betong, Sibu, Mukah, Bintulu and Miri.

SUKMA 2024 will be held from 17 to 24 August, while Para SUKMA from 20 to 28 September.

Also present were Women and Child Development Deputy Minister Dato' Rosey Yunus, Sarawak Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development Ministry Deputy Permanent Secretary Dolhadi Mazuki and Sarawak Women, Children and Community Wellbeing Ministry Deputy Secretary Nur Alina Abdullah @ Colliner Gohe.

Also representing the Perak State Government were Deputy State Financial Officer Aida Hazlyn Hassan, Perak Sports Council director Mazlan Mohamad and Perak Youth and Sports Department director Nor Azah Ahmad Dahalan.
