HRH Sultan Of Perak Graces Foundation Stone Laying Ceremony Of IPTTI And URCC Wakaf Facilities, And UPSI Hari Raya Celebration 2024.

TANJONG MALIM, 24 April 2024 – HRH Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah graced the Foundation Stone Laying Ceremony of the Institut Pendidikan Tahfiz and Turath Islami (IPTTI) and Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris Residential and Community Centre (URCC) Wakaf Facilities, and UPSI Hari Raya Celebration 2024 at Dewan Tuanku Canselor, UPSI.

Accompanying the Sultan was HRH Raja Permaisuri Tuanku Zara Salim, who is also the Chancellor of UPSI.

Also present were Orang Kaya Bendahara Seri Maharaja Gen. Dato' Seri DiRaja Tan Sri (Dr.) Mohd. Zahidi Zainuddin (Rtd) and wife Toh Puan Datin Seri Diraja Puan Sri Hajah Rasiah Md. Nor, State Legal Adviser Dato' Azmir Shah Zainal Abidin, State Exco Members, Deputy State Secretary (Management) Dato' Nor Sham Rahman, UPSI Pro-Chancellor Professor Emeritus Tan Sri Dato' Sri Dr. Zakri Abdul Hamid and wife Puan Sri Datin Sri Atom Yem and UPSI Vice-Chancellor Professor Dato' Dr Md Amin Md Taff.

In his speech, Professor Dato' Dr Md Amin said from the funding of almost RM14 million by Yayasan Rafulin Holdings Sdn. Bhd., this institute will become an international research and education institution that formulates the latest policies in the field of Tahfiz and Turath, spearhead pedagogy based on current technology, and be a centre of scholarly discussion on Tahfiz and Turath at the international level. 

"This institute will also help in the preservation of manuscripts and learning methods of Turath books written according to the traditions of earlier scholars, such as Imam Shafie, Imam Malik, Imam Abu Hanifah and Imam Ahmad. 

"With a capacity of 2,000 people and equipped with a library, research and learning laboratories, this institute aspires to become an international reference and development centre in the field of Tahfiz and Turath Islami," he said. 

He added that URCC was established to provide a conducive teaching and learning ecosystem, as well as providing international standard accommodation for more than 2,400 international and local students. 

"It is a three-room apartment concept, and URCC will be equipped with the latest technology that is eco-friendly, minimalist yet conducive. Family units, international units, Disabled Persons (OKU) units and private units will allow UPSI students to choose accommodation based on their needs," he said. 

Concluding the ceremony, Their Royal Highnesses graced a reception in conjunction with the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration with UPSI staff.
