KERIAN, 9 March 2021- Kerian District was the first destination for the Perak Menteri Besar-With-Rakyat (Mesra) Programme which was scheduled for three days starting today.

Perak Menteri Besar Dato' Saarani Mohamad said the series of programmes began with an Executive Talk with educators in the district.

“This Mesra programme is held to provide space for state government leaders to reach out to the people during the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) in Perak.

"Tomorrow morning, there will be a 'coffee-time' programme with the Menteri Besar and followed by the State Executive Council Meeting at 10.30 am.

"In this format, we will give space first to the District Officer to present issues related to district development,” he said.

He said this in a press conference at the Executive Talk with Kerian District educators at Dewan Kerian Permai, Parit Buntar.

Also present were State Secretary Dato' Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim, State Education, Higher Education and Human Resource Committee Chairman Ahmad Saidi Mohamad Daud and Perak Education Director Dr Mohd Suhaimi Mohamed Ali.

Dato' Saarani added that the highlight of the Mesra programme on Wednesday will involve government agencies such as the Land and Mines Office, Baitulmal, Social Welfare Department and so forth.

"On Thursday, the Mesra programme will begin with the 'Moh Ngopi Bersama Menteri Besar' programme in Bagan Serai with the Welfare Organisation For Wives Of Perak Elected Representatives (BAIDURI).

"Then, we will visit several areas in the Selinsing State Constituency before returning to Ipoh," he added.

The Mesra programme is likely to be expanded to other districts in the state in the future.
