IPOH, 22 September 2021- The Perak State Government has agreed to postpone the sale by open tender for the Istana Lama Raja Muda Perak government land site in Jalan Syed Abu Bakar, Teluk Intan.

The decision announced by Perak Menteri Besar Dato' Saarani Mohamad was made by the State Exco Members at a meeting on Wednesday.

“We took note of public opinion regarding the tender which covers an area of ​​2.092 hectares. So we have agreed to defer the tender as we need to make a detailed study of the building site.                      

"The sale of the land via open tender was done after no public objections were received by the Hilir Perak District and Land Office during the public hearing session to revoke the gazetting of the area on 21 January 2021," he explained during a press conference at Bangunan Perak Darul Ridzuan.

He added that after no objections were received, the revocation of the Istana Raja Muda Perak reserve site was gazetted on 18 March 2021. The Hilir Perak District and Land Office then carried out an open tender for state land alienation for commercial and mixed development purposes from 15 September 2021 to 6 October 2021.

Also present were State Secretary Dato' Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim, State Education, Higher Education and Human Resources Committee Chairman Ahmad Saidi Mohamad Daud, State Health, Science, Environment and Green Technology Committee Chairman Mohd Akmal Kamarudin, State Housing, Local Government and Tourism Committee Chairman Dato' Nolee Ashilin Dato' Mohammed Radzi, State Youth and Sports, Communication and Multimedia Committee Chairman Khairul Shahril Mohamed and State Industry, Investment and Corridor Development Committee Chairman Dato’ Shahrul Zaman Datuk Yahya.
