The implementation of Malaysia MADANI should emphasise community balance so that the drive for its growth is felt by all sections of society.

IPOH, 11 March 2023 - Prime Minister Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim officiated the National Landscape Day Celebration 2023 (HLN2023) at Laman Sejahtera, Taman DR. Seenivasagam this morning.

In his speech, he said the implementation of Malaysia MADANI should emphasise community balance so that the drive for its growth is felt by all sections of society.

"Between the palaces and the people's houses, between the luxurious restaurants and the beautiful and clean stalls, there is greenery, there are gardens for the people.

"This is because the development landmark of a society is not only famous for tall buildings but it needs a balance between the upper class and the lower class," he said.

He also reminded all Mayors and Local Council Presidents across the country to review their development plans so that the mission of balanced development can be achieved.

He said the government will also ensure that the concept of development in the country is improved, with the people’s rights and interests always safeguarded.

With the theme ‘Malaysia Madani Quality Landscape’, the HLN2023 celebration was enlivened with 31 landscape exhibitions and 14 Perak Local Authority (PBT) websites.

The celebration aimed to increase awareness and appreciation of the landscape, besides disseminating the importance of landscape through a comprehensive landscape development programme.

Also present were Local Government Development Minister Nga Kor Ming, Human Resources Minister Sivakumar A/L Varatharaju Naidu, Local Government Development Deputy Minister Akmal Nasrullah Mohd Nasir, Sarawak Local Government Deputy Minister Datuk Dr. Penguang anak Manggil, State Housing and Local Government Committee Chairman Sandrea Ng Shy Ching, Ministry of Local Government Development Secretary-General Datuk M Noor Azman Taib and National Landscape Department Director-General Roslee Abdullah.

Meanwhile, a new hybrid orchid, named ‘Aranda PMX-Anwar’ after the Prime Minister was announced at the event.

Aranda PMX-Anwar is a cross between Aranda Tecnokraft (an intergeneric orchid hybrid from a cross between Aranda Khaw Phaik Suan and Vanda Memoria Choo Lalkeun) and Aranda Sayan (a yellow intergeneric orchid hybrid from a cross between Vanda Medasand and orchid wild Arachnis hookeriana).
