HRH Sultan Of Perak Opens Bagan Datuk Waterfront Square.

BAGAN DATUK, 17 June 2025 — HRH Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah officially opened the Bagan Datuk Waterfront Square here.

Accompanying the Sultan were HRH Raja Permaisuri Perak Tuanku Zara Salim, HH Raja Muda Perak Raja Jaafar Raja Muda Musa, and HH Raja DiHilir Perak Raja Iskandar Dzulkarnain Sultan Idris Shah.

His Royal Highness’ arrival was welcomed by Deputy Prime Minister Dato' Seri Diraja Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, Perak Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Saarani Mohamad and his wife Datin Seri Aezer Zubin.

Also present were HH Raja Kecil Tengah Perak Raja Dato' Seri Iskandar Raja Ziran @ Raja Zaid, Orang Kaya Bendahara Seri Maharaja Gen (Rtd) Dato’ Seri DiRaja Tan Sri (Dr.) Mohd Zahidi Zainuddin and wife Toh Puan Datin Seri DiRaja Puan Sri Hajah Rasiah Md. Nor, and Perak State Assembly Speaker Dato' Mohammad Zahir Abdul Khalid and wife Datin Aznee Abu Samah.

Also in attendance were State Secretary Dato' Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim and wife Datin Che Fauziah Ahmad, State Legal Advisor Dato' Azmir Shah Zainal Abidin, State Financial Officer Dato' Mohd Zaki Mahyudin, State Executive Council Members, and heads of state and federal departments.

The ceremony began with the singing of the Perak Anthem, followed by a Quran recitation and prayers before HRH Sultan Perak officiated the event and signed a commemorative plaque.

After that session, His Royal Highness proceeded to witness a maritime demonstration by the Royal Malaysian Navy Special Forces (PASKAL), the Marine Police, the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM), and the Malaysian Fisheries Department at the Perak River.

After witnessing the demonstration, Their Royal Highnesses also visited an exhibition on the founding history of Bagan Datuk, the 12th district in the state of Perak.

The Bagan Datuk Waterfront Square project comprises several completed components, including the construction of the Bagan Datuk Tourist Jetty Terminal, recreational and leisure facilities, as well as the conservation of shopfront facades and road upgrades around the Bagan Datuk town area.

The square is also decorated with a coconut shell replica along with a fountain, the BD Walk building, a replica of a jong ship including a children's play set, and historical information displayed inside and atop the jong ship.
