HRH Sultan Of Perak Officiates Opening Of SK Seri Serdang Sitiawan.

His Royal Highness’ arrival is warmly welcomed by the students of the school.

LUMUT, 23 September 2025 – HRH Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah officiated the opening of Sekolah Kebangsaan Seri Serdang in Sitiawan here.

Accompanying the Sultan were HRH Raja Permaisuri Perak Tuanku Zara Salim and HH Raja DiHilir Perak Raja Iskandar Dzurkarnain Sultan Idris Shah.

Also present were Perak Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Saarani Mohamad and wife Datin Seri Aezer Zubin, Orang Kaya Bendahara Seri Maharaja Gen. (Rtd) Dato’ Seri DiRaja Tan Sri (Dr.) Mohd. Zahidi Zainuddin and wife Toh Puan Datin Seri Diraja Puan Sri Hajah Rasiah Md. Nor, Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek, Higher Education Minister Dato' Seri Diraja Dr. Zambry Abdul Kadir, State Secretary Dato' Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim and wife Datin Che Fauziah Ahmad, State Financial Officer Dato’ Mohd Zaki Mahyudin, State Exco Members, as well as Perak Territorial Chiefs and their spouses.

in her welcoming speech, Fadhlina Sidek said that Sekolah Kebangsaan Seri Serdang was first established in 1934 under the name Simpang Empat English School on land owned by the Dinding Indians Association (DIA).

“In 1974, the secondary school session was closed and the school functioned fully as a primary school under the name Sekolah Rendah Kebangsaan Simpang Empat.

“From 2013 to 2023, the school was temporarily located on the premises of Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Ahmad Boestamam, Sitiawan, before moving to a new building on 13 January 2023 under the name Sekolah Kebangsaan Seri Serdang (SESDA).

Now, the school stands proudly in Mukim Sitiawan, Manjung District, on a 2.8-hectare land with a construction cost of RM19 million. Currently, the school has 611 students from preschool to Year 6, guided by 42 teachers and five support staff, she explained.

She added that the new building is also equipped with various modern facilities, including a Computer Lab, Science Room, Library, Music Room, Surau, Guidance and Counselling Room, Remedial Room, Multipurpose Field and a preschool building.

The school motto, “Make Knowledge the Primary Pursuit (JITU)” alongside the slogan Knowledge, Piety and Aspiration of Excellence, serves as the core principle for the school community in nurturing visionary individuals.

In her speech, Fadhlina Sidek expressed her appreciation to HRH Sultan of Perak for his concern and support for the development of education in the state.

She said that this support not only boosted the morale of the education community but also sent a clear signal to the Ministry of Education Malaysia to remain committed to carrying out the trust in upholding national education.

She also emphasised that the implementation of the curriculum at SK Seri Serdang encompasses a comprehensive and collaborative approach so that the effectiveness of teaching and learning can be experienced by all students.

The school has also recorded various achievements in academic and co-curricular fields, including students continuing their studies at prestigious schools and achieving success in sports, such as softball, volleyball, handball, archery, cricket and athletics at district, state and national levels.

Fadhlina Sidek said that all these achievements are the result of teachers' commitment, students' enthusiasm and strong parental support, as well as close cooperation with the local community.

"The Ministry of Education will continue to ensure that every education policy and implementation focuses on student development, not only academic excellence, but also forming a strong character, identity and effective communication skills to face future challenges," she elaborated.
