SUNGAI SIPUT, 27 September 2025 — HRH Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah officiated the Perak Agrofest 2025 here.

Accompanying the Sultan was HRH Raja Permaisuri Perak Tuanku Zara Salim.

Their Royal Highnesses’ arrival was welcomed by Perak Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Saarani Mohamad and wife Datin Seri Aezer Zubin.

Also present were Orang Kaya Bendahara Seri Maharaja Gen. (Rtd) Dato’ Seri DiRaja Tan Sri (Dr.) Mohd. Zahidi Zainuddin and wife Toh Puan Datin Seri Diraja Puan Sri Hajah Rasiah Md. Nor, State Secretary Dato' Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim and wife Datin Che Fauziah Ahmad, State Financial Officer Dato' Mohd Zaki Mahyudin and wife, State Rural Development, Plantations, Agriculture and Food Industry Committee Chairman Dato’ Mohd Zolkafly Harun and wife, State Exco Members, Perak State Territorial Chiefs and their spouses, State Assemblymen and Perak Members of Parliament, as well as heads of state and federal departments.

In his speech, Dato' Seri Saarani Mohamad said that Perak Agrofest 2025 is a platform that brings together aspirations and efforts, fostering collaboration between the government, farmers, breeders, fishermen and food industry players.

"This is where a grand vision emerges – to empower the state's agricultural sector, nurture the seeds of technology, revive traditions and ensure food security continues to be safeguarded for future generations," he explained.

According to him, the Perak State Government also emphasises the development of agro youth via agro Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), as an effort to produce a new generation of modern farmers who are more competitive and ready to explore opportunities in high-tech agriculture.

This effort is manifested through new crop initiatives, such as coffee and Bawang Perak, which are now increasingly gaining market acceptance.

At the event, His Royal Highness officiated the opening ceremony and presented 15 awards to recipients, comprising farmers, breeders and industry players who excel in their respective fields.

This year's Agrofest featured more than 60 agencies with 12 main exhibition areas, including the Agriculture Area, Blue Economy Area, Innovation and Technology Area, Paddy Area, Veterinary Area, Floriculture Area, Food Empire Area and the Food and Agro-Based Industry (IMAT) Area.

This makes the festival a strategic platform to showcase agro innovations, strengthen industry networks and open up new business opportunities.

Perak Agrofest 2025, held over three days until this Sunday, is themed 'Sustainable Agro, Prosperous Perak'. It is targeted as a platform to elevate the agro sector as a driver of the state's economy, in line with the aspirations of Perak Sejahtera 2030.
