Perak MB Presents New Normal Al-Quran Recitation Competition Prizes: 7 October 2020
Maal Hijrah 1442H Best Mosque Management Award
IPOH, 7 October 2020 – Perak Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu presented prizes to the winners of the Video Recording Al-Quran Recitation Competition in conjunction with the Adult Level Maal Hijrah at the MB’s Office.
The competition, jointly organised by the Perak Islamic Religious Department (JAIPk) and the Islamic Religion and Information Committee Chairman’s office, was held online as the Movement Control Order was still being enforced.
State Islamic Religion and Information Committee Chairman Mohd Akmal Kamarudin said the adult category competition was organized following the very encouraging response during the youth category competition last July.
“During the MCO period, we could not hold the Al-Quran Recitation competition like in previous years, so we organised again the programme that was held recently.
"Alhamdulillah, the programme was well received by the Perak people and I hope such competitions can be held in the same way if the Pandemic has not subsided," he said after the Prize Giving Ceremony at the Menteri Besar's Office today.
In the competition, Nur Hakim Mohamed Nor emerged as the Qari champion while Noor Suhaiza Chulan was the Qariah champion.
Both the winners each took home RM2,000 in cash and a certificate.
