The Perak Menteri Besar performing the Perak Sejahtera Development Plan 2030 Roadmap Launch gimmick.

IPOH, 29 March 2021- The Perak State Government has launched the Perak Sejahtera Development Plan 2030 Roadmap developed by Institut Darul Ridzuan (IDR) and the State Economic Planning Unit (UPEN) to steer the government machinery in the state’s development for the next 10 years.

Perak Menteri Besar Dato' Saarani Mohamad said the roadmap plan, which is dynamic, realistic and achievable, is a continuation of previous development plans as well as taking into account other medium and long-term development plans at the federal and state level.

“For example, the 12th Malaysia Plan, Northern Corridor Strategic Development Plan 2021-2025, State Structure Plan 2040, Perak Industrial Plan Review and other development plans relevant to the state of Perak.

“The roadmap for the formation of this plan will involve four phases and take 12 months. The first phase has already been completed on 1 and 4 March, comprising a workshop on governance to gather input and views for the framing of Vision, Mission, Strategic Thrust and Shared Values," he said.

He said this in his opening speech at the Perak Sejahtera Development Plan 2030 Roadmap Launch Ceremony at the Perak State Secretariat Banquet Hall here.

Also present were State Secretary Dato' Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim, State Legal Adviser Azmir Shah Zainal Abidin, Perak State Assembly Speaker Dato' Mohammad Zahir Abdul Khalid and Perak State Executive Council members.

Dato' Saarani clarified that the second phase from March to June 2021 will involve strategic initiative development, programmes related to action plans according to the State Exco Members’ portfolio, as well as mapping of existing development plans to coordinate with the Perak Sejahtera development plan.

“For the third phase, it is scheduled to start in July to October 2021 which will involve programme planning specifically by districts.

"The Perak Sejahtera Plan 2030 is expected to be completed after entering the fourth phase starting in November 2021 to February 2022, along with the monitoring and implementation plan," he said.

The Perak Sejahtera Development Plan 2030 is supported by the vision of "Prosperous Perak, Peaceful People” (Perak Makmur, Rakyat Sejahtera), which reflects the manifestation of the people’s hopes for prosperity, security and development. Guided by the mission “Driving Sustainable, Inclusive and Dynamic Socio-Economic Development”, the plan outlines five Strategic Thrusts, namely, balance of physical and socio-economic development, smart collaboration, sustainable use of resources and nature, efficient and caring service delivery system as well as quality and high value expertise that will be aligned with five common values, such as honesty, wisdom, caringness, togetherness and firmness.
