State Government To Bear Cost Of Repairing Houses Damaged By Storm: 19 April 2021

IPOH, 19 April 2021- The Perak State Government will fully bear the cost of repairing 127 houses in Kampung Tasek that were damaged due to heavy rains and strong winds last Wednesday.
Perak Menteri Besar Dato' Saarani Mohamad said the repair cost, which is estimated at RM150,000 to RM200,000, will be channeled by the state government via the Perak Foundation.
“The district office has informed that the repair cost is between RM150,000 to RM200,000 and the state government has agreed to fully fund the repair cost even though the house is a rented house.
"Besides that, the Kinta District and Land Office has identified a contractor to carry out the repair work which will start tomorrow," he said.
He said this after presenting the Disaster Relief Fund donations to the victims affected by the storm in Kampung Tasek here.
After presenting the donation to the recipients, Dato' Saarani took the opportunity to conduct a survey to see the condition of the houses affected by the storm.
Also present were State Secretary Dato' Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim, Ipoh Mayor Dato’ Rumaizi Baharin, Ipoh Barat Member of Parliament M. Kulasegaran and Kinta District Officer Meor Hezbullah Meor Abdul Malik.
At the same time, the state government also channeled additional aid in the form of cash and boxes of dried food to the affected victims.
