Perak Launches Palestinian Humanitarian Fund: 19 May 2021

IPOH, 19 May 2021- The Perak State Government announced the launch of the Palestinian Humanitarian Fund aimed at raising funds to help alleviate the suffering of Palestinians who are victims of the atrocities of the Israeli Zionist regime.
Perak Menteri Besar Dato' Saarani Mohamad said for a start, the State Exco Meeting today agreed to channel aid of RM100,000 to the fund and to be followed by contributions from government-linked companies (GLCs).
This initiative would also be extended to government departments and agencies, as well as the private sector and individuals throughout Perak.
"This fund is a sign of solidarity of the people of Perak regardless of race and religion in supporting the world's protest against the atrocities committed against the Palestinians," said the Menteri Besar during an online media conference.
To ensure that the aid reaches the target group, the state government requested the help of Parit Member of Parliament, Datuk Nizar Zakaria, a leader who is actively involved in humanitarian missions to Palestine to communicate directly with the Palestine authorities, besides through the assistance of Wisma Putra.
