LENGGONG, 8 June 2021- The COVID-19 Immunisation Community Outreach Programme announced by Menteri Besar Dato' Saarani Mohamad has made it easier for Felda Papulut residents here to get the vaccine. More unique when it used a Mobile Dental Clinic (trailer) at the Dataran Arena Amanjaya Lawin Vaccination Centre.

According to Deputy Perak Health Director (Dental) Dr Nama Bibi Saerah Abd Karim, a total of 311 individuals from the target group were successfully vaccinated, including senior citizens, disabled persons and those with health problems.

“The trailer also went to Felda Lawin Selatan and Felda Lawin Utara to facilitate the residents there. Vaccination using this trailer is more comfortable as it is air-conditioned and the process moves very fast," she told reporters.

Meanwhile, a Youth and Sports Ministry representative in Hulu Perak District, Zawani Zainal, said the four-day programme from 5 – 8 June 2021 received encouraging response from the public.

“There were 10 volunteers who helped make this programme a success. Anyone interested in becoming a volunteer can register via the website www.myvac.com.my, to assist the frontliners in delivering vaccines to the people,” he said.

At the same time, a senior citizen Muhammad Yunus, 69, who was present with his wife, 60, said they were happy when contacted by phone from a health officer to be present to receive the vaccine jab. The Felda settler did not seem to be in any pain after receiving the first injection and hoped that the programme would be continued in the future.
