The Menteri Besar and the state Education, Higher Education and Human Resources Committee chairman during their visit to the Adolescent Vaccination Programme.

IPOH, 5 October 2021- Perak Menteri Besar Dato' Saarani Mohamad today visited the Adolescent Vaccination Centre (PPV) at SM Agama Izzudin Shah, Ipoh.

“The Adolescent Vaccination Programme in Perak, which started since 20 September 2021, is run by the State Health Department and State Education Department.

"As of yesterday, a total of 126,211 students aged 12 to 17 have registered for vaccination in Perak. From that number, 115,617 students or 91.6 percent have received the first vaccine dose.

"Meanwhile, a total of 61,853 students aged 16 and 17 have registered and 55,976 or 90.5 percent of them have received the vaccine.

“For students aged 12 to 15, 64,358 have registered and 59,641 or 92.67 percent have been vaccinated.

"The state government has opened a total of 41 PPVs for implementation of the Adolescent Vaccination Programme, comprising schools, vocational schools and existing Public PPVs,” the Menteri Besar explained during the press conference.

The programme in this school runs from 27 September 2021 to 8 October 2021, and the giving of the second vaccine dose will begin on 10 October 2021 until completion.

He also reminded parents and students to immediately take the vaccine.

“I wish to advise the people of Perak, especially parents who should be an example to their children. Hence, parents should take the vaccine and encourage their children to also take the vaccine as protection for themselves and their families.

Also present were state Education, Higher Education and Human Resources Committee chairman Ahmad Saidi Mohamad Daud, State Education Director Dr. Mohd Suhaimi Mohamed Ali and SM Agama Izzudin Shah Principal Ahmad Muizzudin Munawir Salehuldin @ Salehuddin.
