Perak Launches Batang Padang District Local Plan Draft 2035 (Replacement).

TAPAH, 28 October 2021 - The Perak State Government is focused on making “Perak A Quality Income State 2040” with the launch of the Batang Padang District Local Plan Draft 2035 (Replacement).
State Housing, Local Government and Tourism Committee Chairman Dato' Nolee Ashilin Mohammed Radzi said the Batang Padang District Local Plan Draft 2035 replaces the Batang Padang District Local Plan 2020 which expired in 2020.
“Through studies conducted, the development proposal for Batang Padang District until 2035 is based on the principles of sustainable, livable, quality and inclusive society development.
"We want a comprehensive development proposal to be prepared and presented to stakeholders, including non-governmental organisations, to ensure that the development focus for Batang Padang District is as an Education City," she said.
Representing the Menteri Besar, she said this at the Batang Padang District Local Plan Draft 2035 (Replacement) Publicity Programme Launch at Dewan Merdeka here.
Also present were PLANMalaysia Perak Director Asni Mustafa, Tapah District Council President Muhamad Sahlan Husnin and Batang Padang District Officer Shahrul Affendi Baharudin.
Dato' Nolee Ashilin said the current development stimulus for major industries in Kossan Glove City, Tapah has impacted the development of the Tapah area with the creation of job opportunities, increase in housing and business needs and service activities in the area.
“The Perak State Structure Plan 2040 has placed Tapah Town as the state's semi-regional centre and Education City as well as a Research and Development Centre. For the Batang Padang District, the focus on improving the local economy to income generating activities needs to be given special attention.
“Therefore, the Batang Padang District Local Plan Draft 2035 is to focus on being a Sustainable, Viable and Livable District. To achieve this mission, the development implementation will focus on tourism, education and resource industry activities,” she added.
Also, with strong commitment and close cooperation among departments/agencies, including community leaders with their ideas and views, a total of five Development Plan Drafts will be publicised; starting with the Batang Padang District Local Plan Draft 2035, Hilir Perak District Local Plan Draft 2035, Kuala Kangsar District Local Plan Draft 2035; Ipoh Local Plan Draft 2035 and Taiping Heritage Town Special Area Plan Draft.
