The State Assembly Speaker and State Assembly Secretary at the special media conference for the Second Meeting, Fourth Year of the14th State Assembly at Bangunan Perak Darul Ridzuan.

IPOH, 7 December 2021- The Perak State Assembly Secretary received at least five motions to be tabled at the Perak State Assembly sitting from 10 to 20 December 2021.

Perak State Assembly Speaker Dato' Mohammad Zahir Abdul Khalid said among the motions to be tabled were the Proposed Syariah Court Enactment (Perak) (Amendment) Bill 2021and Proposed Amendment to the Standing Orders of the Perak State Assembly.

The two other motions are: to Appoint Members to the Special Select Committee to Study the New Building of the Perak State Assembly and to Form a Special Select Committee to Review the Perak Darul Ridzuan State Enactments.

In fact, the Motion to Elect Senators will also be tabled on 20 December 2021, as there are two vacancies in the Senate.

“Six nominations had been received to fill the two vacancies, however two of them were submitted after the deadline and have withdrawn.

“Therefore, only four nominations are left. They are from Bersatu, Amanah, DAP and Barisan Nasional,” he said in a special press conference for the Second Meeting, Fourth Year of the 14th State Assembly at Bangunan Perak Darul Ridzuan here today.

He added that Perak Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Saarani Mohamad will table the Supply Bill 2022 and the Proposed Development Fund 2022 on 10 December 2021.

He said Perakians can follow the live streaming of the sitting via the Perak DUN YouTube and Perak State Secretariat official Facebook.

Meanwhile, the enforcement of SOPs will be done according to guidelines of the Perak Health Department and Perak National Security Council as a preventive measure against COVID-19.

"Those attending the sitting must undergo the RT-PCR test before10 December 2021, and screening using the Antigen Rapid Test Kits daily in the morning, and must be confirmed negative before the conference starts,” he explained.

Also present was State Assembly Secretary Muhammad Nazri Abdullah.
