Perak Athletes Receive State Government Financial Incentives.

IPOH, 15 December 2021- The Perak State Government via the State Sports Council presented the sports victory and excellence incentives to three recipients who brought glory to Perak at the world stage.
The Perak Men's Hockey Team received an incentive of RM100,000 for winning the 59th Tun Abdul Razak Cup Hockey Tournament 2021.
Meanwhile, athlete with disabilities (OKU) Cheah Liek Hou received an incentive of RM25,000 for winning the Badminton Gold Medal at the 2020 Paralympic Games.
Perak Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Saarani Mohamad also presented a financial contribution of RM3,000 to Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Gunung Rapat (SMKGR) as a token of appreciation to the school.
“The state government wishes to thank and congratulate the athletes and SMKGR who have brought glory to the state.
“Among them is Muhammad Azeem Mohd Fahmi who recorded 21.24 seconds in the 200m event at the 2019 Malaysian School Sports Council (MSSM) Athletics Championship in Johor, which placed him as the world's fastest teenager.
"This school also produced Nur Amisha Azril Rizal, champion of the 2016 Muay Thai Youth World Championship in Bangkok, Thailand," said the Menteri Besar.
SMKGR was used as a training centre for the national sprint event when the coach, Mohd Poad Md. Kassim and two sprinters, Khairul Hafiz Jantan and Muhammad Haiqal Hanafi, continued their training in the state.
Also present were State Youth, Sports, Communication and Multimedia Committee Chairman Khairul Shahril Mohamed, Perak Sports Council (MSN) Director Johari Sham Ahmad Shohor Affendi, SMKGR Principal Ahmad Haridan Mohammed and Perak Hockey Association President Sayuti Abd Samat.
