Pangkor International Boat Show 2022 A Catalyst For Perak Tourism Sector Next Year.

IPOH, 21 December 2021- The Pangkor International Boat Show (PIBS) would not only be a catalyst for the tourism sector via the organisation of international events, but also able to boost the socio-economy and highlight the unique social and cultural characteristics of the local community.
Perak Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Saarani Mohamad said the global market for the marine industry has now reached RM147 billion a year and Perak, as a state with good capacity in the tourism sector, should seize this golden opportunity.
“Hence, the state government sees the potential of PIBS2022 as a leading business platform with good quality and value for the entire boat industry, besides providing a professional business environment for exhibitors and buyers around the world.
“The international exhibition, to be held from 19 to 23 October 2022, will bring exhibitors from more than 20 countries comprising owners, manufacturers, distributors of spare parts and a network of marine industry accessories, including recreational sectors such as water sports activities, scuba diving, fishing and jet skiing,” he said.
He said this at a press conference after officiating the Pangkor International Boat Show 2022 Pre-Launch Ceremony at Bangunan Perak Darul Ridzuan here.
Also present were State Legal Adviser Dato' Azmir Shah Zainal Abidin, State Financial Officer Dato' Zulazlan Abu Hassan and State Youth, Sports, Communication and Multimedia Committee Chairman Khairul Shahril Mohamed.
He added that apart from the boat exhibition, other events planned include demonstrations on catching criminals at sea by the Pascal team, TLDM asset exhibition, boat management seminars and providing of one-stop checkpoint by the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency for exhibitors at the exhibition site.
“The organisation of all these events will place Perak as one of the states that will fill and enliven the Malaysian maritime events calendar, apart from the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA) and Malaysian Navy Day.
"The event is a result of the collaboration between Tourism Perak, Pertubuhan Usahawaniaga Perak and Eagle Swipe Global Sdn Bhd. It is expected to attract more than 60 thousand visitors from within and outside the country," he said.
The exhibition will also be supported by the cooperation of other government agencies such as the Manjung Municipal Council, Royal Malaysian Police Perak, Manjung District and Land Office, Royal Malaysian Navy, Perak Fire and Rescue Department Malaysia as well as other relevant agencies.
