370 Kinta District Farmers Receive State Agricultural Aid.

IPOH, 17 January 2022 - 370 people from the agricultural industry received aid totalling of RM412,273 through the Perak Agriculture Department.

The aid was presented by Perak Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Saarani Mohamad during the Doa Selamat and Santai Programme with the Menteri Besar, and Handover of Our Garden Kit at Dewan Azumu, Halaman Meru Impian in Ipoh.

The recipients comprised those from the Kinta District Vegetable and Cash Crop Industry Development Programme, Kinta District Potential Commodity Development Programme and the Agro-Based Industry Development Programme.

According to Perak Agriculture Department Director Norsiyenti Othman, there were also recipients from Urban Farming and incentives to Malaysian Good Agricultural Practice (myGAP) to promote healthy food production.

It is a certification scheme designed by the Agriculture Department to give recognition to farmers with good production practices by preserving the environment and reducing the use of pesticides.

"Here, we see them practicing good agriculture. In fact, in terms of the residual content of poison, no animal excrements are used as per the guidelines set," she told reporters at the programme.

Also present were State Secretary Dato' Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim, Ipoh Mayor Dato’ Rumaizi Baharin and Kinta District Officer Meor Hezbullah Meor Abdul Malik.
