IPOH, 8 March 2022 – HRH Raja Permaisuri Perak Tuanku Zara Salim said women today remained resolute, showing unparalleled spirit in their determination to create opportunities for themselves and others.

“In any career, women often have to take a longer harder road and a steeper climb towards their goals.

"Besides giving 110 percent effort at work to drive the organisation, they continue to fulfill their everyday roles as mothers, wives, teachers, confidantes, comforters and healers," said Her Royal Highness.

She also likened women to the very fabric that binds families together. Their ability to play these multiple roles to perfection is the foundation that supports the family institution.

HRH Tuanku Zara Salim said this in her speech at the Women in Medicine Symposium 2022 organised by the Malaysian Medical Association (MMA) Perak at the Ambulatory Care Centre Auditorium, Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital, here today.

She said, in conjunction with International Women’s Day, one thing history has taught us is that the future can be bright for all of us if we address persistent inequalities.

“This includes those who hinder women in medicine and other careers. We must all make more efforts to ensure women achieve equal status in all areas of their lives, so that together we can face the challenges of tomorrow,” she added.

Also present were Perak Menteri Besar’s wife Datin Seri Aezer Zubir, State Financial Officer’s wife Datin Naziah Abdul Aziz, State Health Department Director Dato' Dr. Ding Lay Ming and MMA Perak Chairman Dr. Satkunan Mark.
