IPOH, 20 April 2022 - The Perak contingent will focus fully on the preparation of the training camp ahead of the Malaysia Games (SUKMA) 2022 in Kuala Lumpur on 28 September to 8 October.
State Youth, Sports, Communication and Multimedia Committee Chairman Khairul Shahril Mohamed said he was confident that Perak will be able to provide a surprise at SUKMA 2022 Kuala Lumpur as the athletes’ commitment was quite good.
“To me, the Perak contingent is the most committed because despite being in the month of Ramadan, the athletes are still fully focused on preparing themselves.
“Apart from the focus in training, various aspects have also been emphasised to help in their preparation, such as self-discipline, healthy eating, lifestyle and more. This is an added value that must be adhered to so that the athletes are at their optimum performance,” he said.
He said this after officiating the Breaking Fast Event and Terawih Prayer with Perak SUKMA Athletes at Wisma Majlis Sukan Negeri Perak here.
Also present was Perak Sports Council Director Mazlan Mohamad.
Khairul Shahril added that for the SUKMA 2022 medal winners, they will receive lucrative incentives as a token of appreciation for their success.
“The state government has specified incentives for the athletes’ achievements in bringing glory to the state with a set rate, as our commitment in appreciating the contribution of our athletes.
"For the individual category, the gold medal winner will receive an incentive of RM5,000, silver medal RM3,000 and bronze medal RM1,500," he said.
At the event, Khairul Shahril presented Appointment Letters to the Perak Contingent Head and Deputy Head for SUKMA 2022.
