IPOH, 10 May 2022 - The Perak State Government warmly welcomed the French delegation who paid a working visit to Perak on 10 – 11 May 2022.

The French Delegation’s Working Visit to Perak was led by the French Ambassador to Malaysia, His Excellency Roland Galharague.

Accompanying him were the President of the French-Southeast Asian Parliament Friendship Group Mathieu Darnaud, Deux-Sevres Senator Philippe Mouiller, Moselle Senator Catherine Belrhiti, Tarn et Garonne Senator Francois Bonhomme as well as two liaison officers, Anne Laure Saint Dizier and Victor Karayan.

On the first day of the visit, a sharing session on Perak covering investment, tourism and forestry was held at Hotel Weil, Ipoh.

The briefings were presented by Perak Invest Management Centre (InvestPerak) Chief Executive Izran Abdullah, Perak Tourism Management Chief Executive Nurmalis Musa and Perak State Parks Corporation Director M Shah Redza Hussein.

The delegates then visited several interesting places in Ipoh, such as Ho Yan Hor Museum, Han Chin Pet Soo Museum, Concubine Lane and Birch Memorial Clock Tower.

On the second day, the French delegation’s arrival at Bangunan Perak Darul Ridzuan at 10.30am was received by Perak Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Saarani Mohamad.

Also present were Perak State Assembly Speaker Dato' Mohammad Zahir Abdul Khalid, State Secretary Dato’ Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim, Perak State Legal Adviser Dato’ Azmir Shah Zainal Abidin, Perak State Financial Officer Dato' Zulazlan Abu Hassan, State Industry, Investment and Corridor Development Committee Chairman Dato' Shahrul Zaman Datuk Yahya and Dato’ Seri Timor Shah Rafiq.

The courtesy call ended with a discussion and sharing of opinions between the two parties.

The delegation also received a partnership from the Perak State Development Corporation on Lumut Port at Casuarina@Meru before continuing their working visit to Tasik Cermin, Ipoh.
