IPOH, 6 July 2022 - The Perak State Government continues to focus on helping small traders, especially the asnaf, monthly aid recipients, OKU and B40 groups to increase household income.
State Women, Family, Social Welfare committee chairman Datuk Dr. Wan Norashikin Wan Noordin said the state government via the Menteri Besar’s Office has agreed to approve three programmes - BizNita, BizMan and Mentor-Mentee Yong (M2Yong) with an allocation of RM 1.10 million.
"For the first time this year, we have introduced the Bizman Programme which is equipment aid given to male household heads and OKU as there are many aid recipients and low-income groups needing help to improve their family's economy.
"Under BizNita and BizMan, recipients will receive equipment aid worth a maximum of RM3,000 each, such as straight sewing machines, cooking and bakery equipment, lawn machines, coffee machines and hair cutting equipment," she said.
She told reporters this after the 2022 BizNita, BizMan and M2Yong Aid Launch Ceremony at the Perak State Entrepreneur Secretariat (STEP) Seminar Hall here.
Also present were Wanita Perak Director Srihartini Mohamed Shamsudin and STEP Director Mohamad Rozlan Mohamad Rozali.
Datuk Dr. Wan Norashikin added that besides the BizNita and BizMan Programmes, the state government has also introduced a mentor-mentee programme (M2Yong) for cash aid recipients. They will receive cash aid between RM500 and RM1,000.
"There are three phases in this programme - selection, training and monitoring. Successful participants are required to attend hands-on skills training at selected training venues on relevant business management and marketing knowledge.
"The skills and training programme will be managed by Pusat Aspirasi Anak Perak (PASAK) and assisted by STEP, while the development of programme participants will be monitored by Wanita Perak and the agencies involved," she said.
The three programmes will benefit 700 recipients across the state where applications were opened to the public from 15 – 29 April 2022 and forwarded to all DUN Service Centres via online and manual applications.
