KUALA KANGSAR, 14 July 2022 - Two Government Bills will be presented at the Second Meeting, Fifth Year of the 14th Perak State Assembly which will begin on 18 July.

Perak State Assembly Speaker Dato' Zahir Abdul Khalid said at this meeting there are two bills to be tabled by Perak Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Saarani Mohamad.

"The first is the Perak Water Resources Bill 2022 which will be tabled on the first day of the sitting where ten Assemblymen from the government and the opposition will participate in the debate session. The winding-up session for the bill will be held on 19 July 2022.

"While the second, the Perak Islamic Economy Development Corporation (Dissolution) Bill 2022 will be tabled on 20 July 2022 where six Assemblymen from the government and the opposition will take part in the debate session. The winding-up session for the bill will be done on the same day," he told reporters at Dewan Kenanga, Casuarina@Kuala Kangsar here.

Also present was State Assembly Secretary Muhammad Nazri Abdullah.

Dato' Mohammad Zahir added that throughout the sitting, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and guidelines by the State Health Department and State National Security Council will be enforced as a control measure to prevent COVID-19.

"All parties in the State Assembly Hall, namely State Assemblymen, secretariat and media personnel are required to undergo a Saliva Test on the morning of the first and third day of the sitting before being allowed to enter.

"In addition, body temperature checks, wearing of face mask and physical distancing throughout the sitting are mandatory," he added.
