Increasing food production is a strategic move.

IPOH, 30 July 2022 - HRH Sultan of Perak Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah visited an Urban Farming project located on level 2, Hotel Casuarina@Meru when he graced the Perak State Level Maal Hijrah 1444 Celebration here.

"The steps taken by the Perak Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MAIPk) and the Perak Islamic Religious Department (JAIPk) to collaborate with the State Agriculture Department and Menteri Besar Incorporated (MB Inc) to increase food production is the start of a new ‘out-of-the-box’ venture, a strategic move," said His Royal Highness at the event.

According to State Agriculture Department Director Norsiyenti Othman, as many as 2,700 pots were planted here and the harvest would be given to orphanages around Ipoh via the corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme.

Among the orphanages are Yayasan Amanah An-Nur Maisarah, Asrama Anak-Anak Yatim/Warga Miskin Budi Mulia Nurul Huda, Maahad Tahfiz Al-Quran & Akademik BAKIP (MATAQAB) and Pusat Jagaan Anak-Anak Yatim Nurul Iman.

Accompanying His Royal Highness was HRH Raja Permaisuri Perak Tuanku Zara Salim.

Also present were Perak Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Saarani Mohamad, State Secretary Dato' Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim, Perak Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MAIPk) President Tan Sri Dato' Seri Mohd. Annuar Zaini and Perak Islamic Religion Department Director Dato' Mohd Yusop Husin.
