SERDANG, 14 August 2022 - The Perak Pavilion emerged as champion of the Best State House Award in conjunction with the Malaysian Agriculture, Horticulture and Agrotourism (MAHA) Exhibition 2022 today.

State Rural Development, Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Committee Chairman Dato' Zainol Fadzi Paharudin represented the state government in receiving the award and cash prize of RM7,000 presented by Agriculture and Food Industry Minister Datuk Seri Dr. Ronald Kiandee.

This championship was the 5th consecutive victory for Perak since 2012.

Meanwhile, Selangor won second place taking home cash worth RM5,000 and third place Kedah with RM3,000.

Also present were Agriculture and Food Industry Deputy Minister 1 Datuk Seri Ahmad Hamzah, Agriculture and Food Industry Deputy Minister II Datuk Dr. Nik Muhammad Zawawi Salleh and Agriculture and Food Industry Ministry Secretary-General Dato' Haslina Abdul Hamid.

Meanwhile, Datuk Seri Dr. Ronald Kiandee said MAHA 2022 has managed to attract more than 1.4 million visitors, i.e., 1.2 million physical visitors and 266,000 virtual visitors.

"MAHA has also recorded the highest sales of more than RM260 million, including direct sales, online sales and business matching involving eight marketing companies from abroad," he said in his speech at the MAHA 2022 Closing Ceremony at the Malaysian Agricultural Expo Park (MAEPS) here.
