The event started upon the arrival of HRH Sultan of Perak together with HRH Raja Permaisuri Perak and their two children.

IPOH, 31 August 2022 - The Perak State Level National Day Celebration 2022 at Dataran Bandaraya, Jalan Panglima Bukit Gantang was celebrated joyously after the pandemic era with more than 15,000 people thronging the square since early morning.

The event started at about 8.00am on the arrival of HRH Sultan of Perak Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah together with HRH Raja Permaisuri Perak Tuanku Zara Salim and their two children, HH Raja Kecil Besar Perak Raja Dato' Seri Azlan Muzaffar Shah and HH Raja Nazira Safya.

Immediately upon arrival, His Royal Highness inspected the guard of honor comprising 106 officers and personnel from the Royal Engineer Regiment 2nd Division, Sangro Camp, Taiping accompanied by the Royal Malaysian Navy KD Pelandok Band, and followed by the singing of the Negaraku and Perak anthem.

The celebration continued with the recitation of the National Day pledge by 16 Form 6 students, SMK Seri Putra in front of the main stage before a choir performance by 105 students from 3 schools, namely SJKC Ave Maria Convent, SMJK Sam Tet and SMJK Ave Maria Convent presented 2 songs, Keluarga Malaysia Teguh Bersama and Jalur Gemilang.

The musical performance that told the story of Malaysians' struggle together against the COVID-19 pandemic also captivated the spectators.

The highlight of the celebration was the entry parade of 95 contingents comprising 6,200 participants from various departments and agencies.

Among the participants were contingents from the Perak State Secretariat (SUK), Ipoh City Council (MBI), Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM), government and private agencies, non-governmental organisations, Higher Education Institutes (IPT) and schools.

Also gracing the event were HH Raja DiHilir Perak Raja Iskandar Dzurkarnain Sultan Idris A'fifullah Shah and wife HH Tunku Soraya Sultan Abdul Halim.

Also present were Perak Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Saarani Mohamad, Perak State Assembly Speaker Dato' Mohammad Zahir Abdul Khalid, State Secretary Dato' Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim, State Legal Adviser Dato' Azmir Shah Zainal Abidin, State Financial Officer Mohd Zaki Mahyudin and State Exco Members.
