TAPAH, 17 October 2022 - Prime Minister Dato' Sri Ismail Sabri Yaakob announced the contribution of Felcra Bhd Participant Project Distributable Profit 2/2022, Risda Commercial Replanting Dividend 2022 and a one-off payment of RM1,000 to Tok Batin and Penghulu.

He announced the contribution during the Prime Minister Ramah Mesra Programme with Felcra Bhd Participants, Risda Smallholders, Orang Asli Development Department (JAKOA) Tok Batin and Penghulu Orang Asli at Arena Merdeka this morning.

"My congratulations and well done to Felcra Bhd in developing abandoned land, and succeeded in raising the value of over 204 thousand hectares of rural land which benefited more than 103,000 participants nationwide.

"Following the success of Felcra Bhd participant project in recording profits, I am happy to announce the Interim Distributable Profits 2/2022 amounting to RM181.5 million to a total of 74,949 participants nationwide," he said.

He added that the Commercial Replanting Scheme (TSK) managed by Risda, involving an area of ​​18,667.83 hectares with 13,357 participants, had enjoyed encouraging dividends.

"Hence, RM73.2 million in Risda TSK dividends were distributed to participants at an average of RM5,480.38 per hectare for the period ending the first nine months of this year," he said.

He also announced a one-off payment to the Orang Asli Penghulu Institute as a token of the government's appreciation for the contribution and services of Batin or Penghulu in the development and customary heritage of the Orang Asli community.

"The government has allocated an allowance of RM6.739 million per year involving a total of 624 Tok Batin and Penghulu throughout the country.

"I am pleased to announce a one-off payment of RM1,000 to each Tok Batin and Penghulu, involving an allocation of RM624,000," he said.

Also present were Perak Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Saarani Mohamad, Ministry of Rural Development Minister Dato' Seri Mahdzir Khalid, Ministry of Human Resources Minister cum Tapah Member of Parliament Datuk Seri Saravanan a/l Murugan, Senator Dato' Dr. Mah Hang Soon and State Secretary Dato' Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim.
