HRH Sultan Of Perak Joins In Sultan Nazrin Shah Birthday Run 2022.

KUALA KANGSAR, 30 October 2022 - HRH Sultan of Perak Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah participated in the Sultan Nazrin Shah Birthday Run 2022 at Dataran Pavilion this morning.

Also participating in the run were his daughter HH Raja Nazira Safya and his sister HH Raja Dato' Seri Yong Sofia Sultan Azlan Muhibbuddin Shah.

State Secretary Dato' Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim, State Legal Adviser Dato' Azmir Shah Zainal Abidin, State Financial Officer Mohd Zaki Mahyudin, Perak Police Chief CP Dato' Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri and Kuala Kangsar Member of Parliament Datuk Mastura Mohd Yazid also took part in the run.

The event, organised in conjunction with Sultan Nazrin’s 66th Birthday which will be celebrated on 4 November, saw the participation of nearly 10,000 people from various walks of life.

At around 6.45am, Sultan Nazrin flagged off the runners of the 15 km category with 5,289 participants and 10 km category with 3,124 participants at about 7.10am.

Then, HRH Sultan of Perak with his daughter HH Raja Nazira Safya and other dignitaries joined in the running event for the guests of honour category (VVIP) involving a distance of 2.5km.

The flagged off for the 350 runners in the VVIP category was performed by the Sultan’s sister HH Raja Dato' Seri Yong Sofia.

A variety of performances were held along the running route, including dynamic demonstrations and capability of the Three Branches of the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) to tackle sabotage and hostage taking at Laman Budaya by the Royal Malaysian Navy (TLDM) Lumut, 2 Brigade Headquarters Ipoh and Royal Malaysian Air Force (TUDM) Academy Ipoh.

The event was enlivened with performances by Malays, Chinese and Indians to highlight the multi-racial culture of Malaysia.

Among them, Seni Silat performed by the Malays of Persatuan Seni Silat Saudara Kuala Kangsar and a band display by the Kuala Kangsar Malay College (MCKK) students.

For the Chinese, 24 Seasons Drums, Dragon and Lion Dances were presented by the Kuala Kangsar Chinese Assembly Hall.

While for the Indians, the Kolattam Dance was performed by the students of SJK (T) Gandhi Memorial, Kuala Kangsar.

Before leaving, His Royal Highness consented to grace a reception and prize giving ceremony.
