IPOH, 1 November 2022 - A total of 162 athletes, 62 coaches and 21 management officials received incentives totalling RM460,400 for their achievements at the Malaysia Games (SUKMA) 2022 last September.

The incentives were presented by State Youth, Sports, Communications and Multimedia Committee Chairman Khairul Shahril Mohamed, representing Perak Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Saarani Mohamad, at the SUKMA XX MSN and Perak ASEAN Para Athletes Incentive Presentation Ceremony 2022 at the Riverfront Hotel this evening.

"Perak managed to obtain 27 gold medals, 28 silver medals and 46 bronze medals, making a total of 101 medals.

"Of the 31 sports participated, 21 sports have contributed medals and 3 sports, i.e., Athletics, Judo and Muay Thai contributed 4 gold medals, making them the main contributors," he said.

The state government has incentives specially for athletes who succeeded in bringing glory to Perak at SUKMA - individual category gold medal RM 5,000.

"Silver medal RM3,000 and bronze RM1,000. For the team category, gold medal RM2,500, silver RM1,500 and bronze RM500," he added.

Meanwhile, the state government also presented incentives totalling RM19,600 to athletes, coaches and management officials who have made the country proud in the 11th ASEAN Para Games (APG) in Solo, Indonesia from 30 July to 6 August 2022.

Malaysia, represented by about 70 athletes, managed to collect 36 gold, 20 silver and 14 bronze medals and was fourth in the medal table.

"For the ASEAN Para Games athletes, individual category gold medal RM3,000, silver RM1,500 and bronze RM1,200.

"For the team category, gold medal RM2,000, silver RM1,200 and bronze RM1,000," he said.

Also present were State Financial Officer Mohd Zaki Mahyudin, State Rural Development, Entrepreneurs and Cooperatives Committee Chairman Dato' Zainol Fadzi Paharudin and Perak Sports Council (MSN) Director Mazlan Mohamad.
