IPOH, 31 December 2022 - Perakians must be proud to work together to tell the world that this blessed land of Perak has its own greatness and uniqueness.

Perak Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Saarani Mohamad said this when officiating the Launch Ceremony of Visit Ipoh Year 2023 and Starvendors Foodstival X #TRAVELPERAKLAH 2022 Programme at the Indera Mulia Stadium grounds tonight.

He said all parties need to collaborate to improve the tourism sector as it is one of the important pulses for the state's economic growth.

"This is no longer the time for us to grieve over the sufferings during the pandemic era; now is the time for us to quickly face new challenges.

"We need to strengthen the economic engines. We need to constantly empower the people’s capacity to be able to face the stressful economic environment," he explained.

He added that the initiative to make 2023 the Visit Ipoh Year is a very apt step for us to highlight the strength and greatness of Ipoh as one of the must-visit holiday locations.

Various interesting programmes have been designed throughout 2023 to promote Ipoh city, including Pesta Budaya Nusantara@IPOH on 10-11 June, Local Coffee Festival on 7 October and Rainbow Challenge (Art Competition) on 18 November.

Also present were State Tourism, Industry, Investment and Corridor Development Committee Chairman Loh Sze Yee, Ipoh Mayor Dato' Rumaizi Baharin@Md Daud and Perak Tourism Chief Executive Officer Nurmalis Musa.
