1,465 Lahat Eco-City Low And Medium Cost Property Units Help City Folks Own Their Own Homes.

LAHAT, 17 January 2023 - 1,465 low and medium cost property units will be built in Lahat Eco-City to benefit city folks and the low-income groups,  

Perak Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Saarani Mohamad said the housing development covers an area of ​​82.53 acres of land owned by the developer Mysuccess Land Sdn Bhd and aims to help the low-income groups own their own homes.

"It involves a total of 392 units of low-cost flats, 404 units of medium-cost flats and 669 units of medium-cost single-storey terrace houses.

"On 5 September 2022, Mysuccess Land Sdn. Bhd signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Ipoh City Council (MBI) to build low and medium cost houses for low-ranking MBI staff, subject to the eligibility conditions set by the Perak Housing and Property Board (LHPH),” he said in his speech at the Lahat Eco-City Housing Project groundbreaking ceremony here.

The event was graced by HH Raja DiHilir Perak Raja Iskandar Dzurkarnain Sultan Idris Shah.

Also present were State Secretary Dato' Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim, State Housing and Local Government Committee Chairman Sandrea Ng Shy Ching, Ipoh Mayor Dato' Rumaizi Baharin, LPHP Executive Officer Mohamed Akmal Dahalan and Mysuccess Land Sdn Bhd Managing Director Heong Seng Loon.

Dato' Seri Saarani Mohamad added that the state government greatly appreciated the developer’s commitment to the "One Family, One House" agenda with the aim to increase the rate of house ownership for the poor without sacrificing the quality of the houses built.

"Generally, this good effort will not only help home ownership of the low-income groups who often face home financing problems, but can also increase the momentum of the real estate sector in Perak in the future.

"The Lahat Eco-City Housing Project is divided into two phases – phase 1 involves medium-cost terraced houses expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2024 while the low-cost flats in phase 2 is scheduled for completion in the fourth quarter of 2026," he said.

The development of affordable housing in Bandar Lahat, Ipoh is in line with the Perak Sejahtera Plan 2030 with six agendas on the people’s aspirations, namely wellbeing, security and development with the mission of 'driving sustainable, inclusive and dynamic socioeconomic development'.
