I am very excited to be here to celebrate media friends as the media is very important in my career.

IPOH, 28 January 2023 - The Perak Media Night with the Perak Menteri Besar 2023 took place in a lively atmosphere at Laman Seri Ridzuan by bringing together more than 80 media practitioners from almost 25 agencies tonight.

Perak Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Saarani Mohamad, who attended with his wife Datin Seri Aezer Zubir, said that media personnel played an important role in his career after two decades of being involved in the world of politics.

"I am very excited to be here to celebrate media friends as the media is very important in my career. Every day my media friends and I were chasing news and trying to get a scoop. So, it is very important in life together.

"I am grateful to the media, whether it is provocative writing or positive writing, it still helps me a lot to understand my career path in this field," he explained.

In fact, Perak Media Practitioners Association chairman Sayed Mohd Hesyam Sayed Idris hoped that the organising of this media night would be a starting point for closer relations not only between the media and the government, but in safeguarding the welfare of the media personnel themselves.

Also present were State Communications, Multimedia and NGO Committee chairman Mohd Azlan Helmi Helmi, Perak Information Department Director Mohd Rizal Hashim, Menteri Besar Incorporated (MB Inc) Chief Executive Officer Anuar Zainal Abidin and Perak State Development Corporation (PKNPk) Chief Executive Officer Datuk Redza Rafiq Abdul Razak.

The event was livened up with the presentation of souvenirs for media friends who got married or had children from 2020 to 2022, as well as the merdeka photography competition #PERAKSEJAHTERA and MB’s portrait photography competition #PERAKSEJAHTERA.

Dato' Seri Saarani Mohamad also presented a special medical fund contribution to part-time photographer Muhamad Nazreen Syah's 6-year old daughter, Aina Afieyah, who suffered from fragile skin since birth and her medical treatment reached RM5,000 a month.
