State Government Funds 10 Academic Materials On Challenges And Issues In The State.

 

He said the publication will also increase the public's understanding of the current scenario faced by Perak.

IPOH, 1 March 2023 - The state government through Institut Darul Ridzuan (IDR) mobilised the initiative of publishing 10 academic materials on the challenges and issues in the state, to be used as reference materials by stakeholders and even implementers to realise the Perak Sejahtera Plan 2030.

Perak Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Saarani Mohamad said the publication of the 10 books will be funded by the state government via a grant worth RM230,000 distributed to industry players and experts from various local universities.

He added that the publication will also increase the public's understanding of the current scenario faced by Perak.

"Through the publication grant, IDR will focus on 10 books with themes such as Orang Asli, People with Disabilities (OKU), Aging Society, TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training) and Migration.

"Other themes include Poverty and Health, Health and Wellbeing, Food Security and Environmental Sustainability, Digital Economy and Big Data Analysis," he said at a press conference here today.

Earlier, he officiated the Perak Sejahtera 2030 Publishing Grant Presentation Ceremony, which was attended by representatives of higher education institutions involved, such as Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris, Universiti Kuala Lumpur and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia.

Meanwhile, Dato' Seri Saarani Mohamad also launched Perak Women's Month, held for the first time in conjunction with International Women's Day, which is celebrated on 8 March every year.

In line with the launch, various programmes will be carried out from today until 19 March, the date of the Perak State Level Women's Day celebration, which will bring together about 2,000 women at Laman Seri Ridzuan.

Also present were State Financial Officer Mohd Zaki Mahyudin, State Women, Family, Social Welfare and Entrepreneur Development Committee Chairman Salbiah Mohamed, Women and Community Development Secretariat Director Jamilah Zakaria and Institut Darul Ridzuan Chief Executive Officer Dr. Maisarah Ahmad.
