IPOH, 13 April 2023 - The state government via the Perak Agriculture Department organised the 2023 Raya Fun Programme Promotion and Sale of Agro-Based Industry Products from today until 14 April 2023 at the Bangunan Seri Perak Darul Ridzuan field here.

Perak Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Saarani Mohamad said this was an annual programme held by the State Agriculture Department to help entrepreneurs in the Agro-Based Industry (ABI) introduce and market their products.

"A total of 18 entrepreneurs from all districts in Perak participated in the programme.

"Among the products sold today are biscuits, kuih raya, chips, chili sauce, rendang tok and various ABI products from entrepreneurs in the state. The products sold today are priced lower by 10 % than the regular price.

He said this after officiating the Perak Agriculture Department Raya Fun Programme Promotion and Sale of Agro-Based Industry Products at the Bangunan Seri Perak Darul Ridzuan field here.

Also present were State Financial Officer Mohd Zaki Mahyudin, State Rural Development, Plantation, Agriculture and Food Industry Committee Chairman Dato' Mohd Zolkafly Harun and Perak Agriculture Department Director Norsiyenti Othman.

Dato' Seri Saarani Mohamad said through this programme, 44 entrepreneurs have received financial aid worth RM 820,000.00 from the state government in 2023, an increase as compared to 37 in 2022 with financial aid RM 550,000.00.

"The aid was in the form of machine and equipment, upgrading entrepreneurs' product processing premises, upgrading infrastructure for entrepreneurs as well as packaging assistance for their agro-based industry products.

"Up to March 2023, a total of 568 agro-based industry entrepreneurs who have been registered with the Perak Agriculture Department are actively doing business," he added.

Meanwhile, 6 agro-based industry entrepreneurs under the guidance of the Perak Agriculture Department have successfully penetrated the international market, namely Syarikat Syilis Food Manufacturing Sdn Bhd, Nab Food Industries Company, Syarikat Jamilah Mansor Enterprise (M) Sdn Bhd, Syarikat Shahrinie Food Industries, Che Din Food Industries Company and Syarikat Royal Rendang Tok Mak Nik.
