IPOH, 18 May 2023 - The Third Meeting of the First Year of the 15th Perak State Assembly will be held from 22 May to 25 May.

Perak State Assembly Speaker Dato' Mohammad Zahir Abdul Khalid said, as usual, throughout the four-day sitting, the oral question session will be conducted for 90 minutes.

"At this meeting, two Bills (RUU) will be submitted by the government, i.e., the Perak Hotel Enactment 2023 to be tabled by Housing and Local Government Committee Chairman Sandrea Ng Shy Ching and Poultry Farming Enactment (Amendment) 2023 to be tabled by Rural Development, Plantation, Agriculture and Food Industry Committee Chairman Dato' Mohd Zolkafly Harun.

"Also, there are two motions that will be tabled by Perak Menteri Besar Dato' Saarani Mohamad, i.e., Motion to Amend Article 38, Part Two, Perak State Constitution and Motion to Elect Dewan Negara Senators," he said.

He said this in a special press conference at the Media Conference Room in Bangunan Perak Darul Ridzuan here.

Also present was Deputy Perak State Assembly Speaker Jenny Choy Tsi Jen.

Dato' Mohammad Zahir Dato' Abdul Khalid added that a total of 46 State Assemblymen will be given the opportunity to debate the two bills.

"A total of 23 state assemblymen will debate the Perak Hotel Enactment 2023 and the remaining 23 will debate the Poultry Farming Enactment (Amendment) 2023.

"The debate period for government supporters and the opposition leader is 30 minutes each. While the duration for the other debaters is 15 minutes per person," he said.

Meanwhile, the Perak State Assembly sitting this time will take place with a new look.

The renovation involving the interior space, i.e., upgrading of the State Assemblymen' desks and chairs was carried out to provide comfort and a fresher atmosphere in line with the commitment to uphold the Perak State Assembly as the state's highest legislative institution.
