IPOH, 3 September 2023 - The state government announced the giving of cash aid to 36 traders affected by the storm on 30 August 2023.

"Today, we personally visited the area and expressed our sympathy to the traders affected by the recent storm.
"I was told the traders were ready to receive many customers that night on National Day eve. But the opposite happened and they suffered losses.
"So, today we give a small cash aid. I hope it can ease their burden slightly as there are still a few traders yet to reopen their business after the incident," he said.
Also present were State Women, Family, Social Welfare, Cooperatives and Entrepreneurs Development Committee Chairman Salbiah Mohamed, State Housing and Local Government Committee Chairman Sandrea Ng Shy Ching, Perak Police Chief Dato' Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri, Perak State Entrepreneurs Secretariat (STEP) Director Mohamad Rozlan Mohamad Razali and Ipoh Night Market Managing Director Voon Ken Hong.
Meanwhile, trader Muhammad Amirul Abd Rahman, 30, said that the aid given by the state government could ease his burden to start selling nasi ayam gunting again.
"At the time of the storm, I and an employee took shelter behind a row of other shops and managed to record the incident.
"For now, the site owner has given us space to do business at a nearby lot, and the repair works will be completed in about a month," he said.
