IPOH, 21 September 2023 - The Fourth Meeting of the First Year of the 15th Perak State Assembly will be held from 25 to 27 September.

State Assembly Speaker Dato' Mohammad Zahir Abdul Khalid said, as usual, throughout the three-day sitting, the oral question session will be conducted for 90 minutes.

"At this meeting, only one Bill will be submitted by the government, i.e., the Perak Water Resources Enactment 2023 to be tabled by Infrastructure, Energy, Water and Public Transport Committee Chairman Dato' Seri Ir Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin," he said.

He said this in a special press conference at the Media Conference Room in Bangunan Perak Darul Ridzuan here.

Also present were Deputy State Assembly Speaker Jenny Choy Tsi Jen and State Assembly Secretary Muhammad Nazri Abdullah.

Dato' Mohammad Zahir added that a total of 20 State Assemblymen will be given the opportunity to debate the bill. The debate session is scheduled to take place during the First Sitting on 25 September 2023.

"The debate period for government supporters and opposition leaders is 30 minutes each. While the debate for the other debaters is 15 minutes per person.

"The winding-up session for the bill by Dato' Seri Ir. Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin is 60 minutes," he said.

The Water Resources Enactment Bill will replace the Water Act 1920 (Act 418) and the Perak Coastal Management Enactment 2016.
