IPOH, 24 September 2023 – State Human Resources, Health, Indian Community Affairs and National Integration Committee Chairman Sivanesan A/L Achalingam officiated the Opening of the Perak Amalgamated Union of Employees in Government Clerical and Allied Services (AUEGCAS) Office at the Perak State Secretariat Parking Complex Compound this afternoon.

"Today is also AUEGCAS Malaysia's 60th Diamond Jubilee Celebration Day. This union has been around for a long time and historical, possessing 45,000 members throughout Malaysia," he said at the event, representing Perak Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Saarani Mohamad.

He also called on all unions to change the mindset of the union with the times to ensure it remains relevant.

Also present were AUEGCAS Perak President Asman Mohd Nawawi, Congress of Unions of Employees in the Public and Civil Services (CUEPACS) Deputy President II Azman Shah Abdul Rahman and Malaysian Trades Union Congress (MTUC) Secretary-General Kamarul Baharin Mansor.
