IPOH, 2 November 2023 - Perak Mufti Dato' Wan Zahidi Wan Teh heads the list of 238 recipients of State Awards and Medals in conjunction with the 67th Birthday Celebration of HRH Sultan of Perak Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah.

Wan Zahid, appointed as Perak Mufti on 1 August 2022, is conferred the Dato' Seri Paduka Mahkota Perak (SPMP) which carries the title Dato' Seri.

Also bestowed the same award is Public Service Department Director-General Datuk Dr Zulkapli Mohamed.

Armed Forces Commander General Tan Sri Datuk Seri Mohammad Ab Rahman and Deputy Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay receive the Dato' Seri Panglima Taming Sari (SPTS) which carries the title Dato' Seri Panglima, while Perak State Financial Officer Mohd Zaki Mahyudin will receive the Dato' Paduka Cura Si Manja Kini ( DPCM) which carries the title Dato'.

A total of 13 recipients will receive the Dato' Paduka Mahkota Perak (DPMP) which also carries the title Dato'.

Among the recipients of the DPMP are State Women, Family, Social Welfare and Entrepreneurs Development Committee Chairman Salbiah Mohamed, Perak Public Works Department Director Hamdan Ali, Perak Education Department Director Mohamad Fauzi Mahson, Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital Director Dr. Megat Iskandar Megat Abdul Hamid, Strategic Investment Division Secretary Nor Eni Ismail, Perak Agriculture Development Corporation CEO Yahanis Yahya and Universiti Teknologi Petronas Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. Mohamed Ibrahim Abdul Mutalib.

Also receiving the DPMP are Perak Hockey Association President Mohd Saiyuti Abd Samat, Malaysian High Commissioner to India Muzafar Shah Mustafa, NSTP Group Managing Editor Datuk Ahmad Zaini Kamaruzzaman, Chandrasekaran A/L Perumal, Mohamed Shah Redza Hussein and Dr. Lee Boon Chye.

Five recipients of the Dato' Pahlawan Taming Sari (DPTS) which carries the title Dato' Pahlawan are Geospatial Defence Director Brigadier-General Sr. Dr. Mohd Zambri Mohamad Rabab, Police International Relations Chief SAC R. Suparamaniam, Brigadier-General (Rtd) Dr. Leong Weng Foon, Royal Malaysian Navy Inspector-General Rear Admiral Mohd Fadzli Kamal Mohd Mohaldin and 2nd Infantry Brigade Commander Brigadier-General Asri Shukor. 

A total of 14 people will receive the Paduka Cura Si Manja Kini (PCM), Darjah Paduka Mahkota Perak (PMP) 29 recipients, Darjah Ahli Cura Si Manja Kini (ACM) 21 recipients, Darjah Ahli Mahkota Perak (AMP) 43 recipients, Pingat Pekerti Terpilih (PPT) 60 recipients, Pingat Jasa Kebaktian (PJK) 33 recipients and Pingat Lama Perkhidmatan (PLP) 15 recipients.

Orang Kaya Bendahara Seri Maharaja General (Rtd) Dato Seri DiRaja (Dr.) Tan Sri Mohd Zahidi Zainuddin said the Sultan has consented to confer the Pingat Jasa Kebaktian (PJK) on Muhammad Azeem Mohd Fahmi who won the bronze medal in the men's 100 meter event, Shereen Samson Vallabouy who won the bronze medals in the women’s 400m and 4x100m events, and Muhd ​​Shafiq Puteh who won the bronze medal in the 3m springboard synchronised diving event.  

The three athletes won the medals at the 2022 Asian Games in Hangzhou held from 23 September to 8 October 2023. 

He added that the Investiture Ceremony will be held in two sessions. 

"The first session will be on Sunday, 5 November and the second session on Saturday, 18 November 2023 at Balairong Seri, Istana Iskandariah in Kuala Kangsar," he said in a press conference at Laman Seri Ridzuan here. 

In addition, Sultan Nazrin has also consented to fund the lunch treat for 7,100 prisoners in Tapah Prison, Taiping Prison, Kamunting Correctional Centre and Batu Gajah Moral Rehabilitation Centre on Friday, 3 November 2023. The programme will be managed by the Perak Prisons Department. 

"Orang Kaya Bendahara Maharaja will represent the Sultan at Taiping Prison, Orang Kaya Menteri Paduka Tuan (Orang Besar Jajahan Larut, Matang and Selama) will represent the Sultan at the Kamunting Correctional Centre, Orang Kaya-Kaya Panglima Kinta Seri Amar Bangsa Diraja (Orang Besar Jajahan Kinta) will represent the Sultan at the Batu Gajah Moral Rehabilitation Centre and YDH Toh Paduka Indera (Orang Besar Jajahan Batang Padang) will represent the Sultan at Tapah Prison," he explained. 

Also present was Perak State Senate Secretary Dato' Seri Diraja Ayop Hashim.
