IPOH, 29 November 2023 - The Perak State Government via InvestPerak has prepared the Perak Industrial Plan (P3) as a catalyst for the state's economic growth.

Perak Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Saarani Mohamad said the plan will boost the economic growth and performance of the industrial sector in Perak for a 10-year period until 2030, in line with the aspirations of the New Industrial Master Plan 2030 set by the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI).

"This plan targets a total investment worth RM47 billion for a period of 10 years in which several key high-tech sectors are focussed on as catalysts for investment growth in Perak.

"These include the electrical and electronic (E&E) sector, automotive and components and electric vehicles (EV), mineral-based industries, biotechnology, medical devices and other related sectors," he said.

He said this at the Investors Appreciation Ceremony 2023 and Perak Industrial Plan (P3) Launch Ceremony at the Casuarina Meru Convention Centre here.

Also present were State Secretary Dato' Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim, State Legal Adviser Dato' Azmir Shah Zainal Abidin, State Financial Officer Dato' Mohd Zaki Mahyudin, State Tourism, Industry, Investment and Corridor Development Committee Chairman Loh Sze Yee, MITI Secretary-General Dato' Hairil Yahri Yaacob, InvestPerak Chief Executive Mohamad Hashim Abdul Ghani and heads of state and federal departments.

Dato' Seri Saarani added that all sectors had been identified in highlighting Perak as a developed and competitive state.

"All these sectors not only have the ability to attract high-tech investment but also develop a skilled workforce that is globally competitive.

"Also, through this plan the GDP rate for Perak is targeted to be worth RM123 billion by 2030 where the industrial sector is targeted to contribute as much as 25% with a value RM30.9 billion," he said.
