Dato' Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim thanking all SUK Perak staff for making all the programmes and events in 2023 a success.

IPOH, 12 January 2024 - Almost 600 people attended the Perak State Secretariat (SUK Perak) 2024 New Year Message Ceremony at Dewan Bankuet, Bangunan Perak Darul Ridzuan.

The event, with the all blue clothing theme, was officiated by State Secretary Dato' Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim, accompanied by State Legal Adviser Dato' Azmir Shah Zainal Abidin, State Financial Officer Dato' Mohd Zaki Mahyudin, Deputy State Secretary (Management) Dato' Norsham Rahman and Deputy State Secretary (Development) Halizah Sipun.

In his speech, Dato' Ahmad Suaidi thanked all SUK Perak staff for making all the programmes and events in 2023 a success.

"I can conclude that we have ended 2023 in style because we have made Perak a state that is looked up upon by all parties," he said.

He added that civil servants in the state will unite to face 2024 in any situation and welcome the call by Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Saarani Mohamad to explore new branches of the economy, including the blue economy.

"As a government machinery, we need to empower the economy and explore new sources of income for the state.

"In line with that, the State Government is now in the process of establishing the Perak Water Resources Management Board, which will definitely contribute to increasing the state's revenue," he said.

He also called on all parties to move, fight and contribute to the state as a team.

"We should not only focus on a certain unit, but focus on the overall direction of the division and then the state.

"Apart from that, we also need to look at the people's demands in more detail because the demands are not getting easier day by day but they are getting more complex. Therefore, apart from innovating, we need to explore new areas of technology," he said when speaking at the ceremony.

The ceremony ended with a song and dance performance by Kumpulan Selendang Perak.
