Perak TVET Council, Strategic Direction Driver Of TVET Ecosystem.

IPOH, 2 February 2024 - The state government via the initiative of the Perak Children's Aspiration Centre (PASAK) has formed the Perak TVET Council as a strategic direction driver of the TVET ecosystem.
Perak Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Saarani Mohamad said this was a collaboration between public and private stakeholders in empowering and mainstreaming TVET.
"This council also acts as a monitoring body for the achievement of human capital development to meet the needs of the current industry in line with the aspirations towards Malaysia's TVET Corridor.
"For that, TVET needs to be emphasised to ensure that it is always relevant and in line with the development of the industry," he said.
He said this in his speech at the launch of the Perak State TVET Council in Hotel Casuarina@Meru here.
Also present were State Secretary Dato' Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim, State Legal Adviser Dato' Azmir Shah Zainal Abidin, State Financial Officer Dato' Mohd Zaki Mahyudin, Deputy State Assembly Speaker Jenny Choy Tsi Jen, State Human Resources, Health and Indian Community Affairs Committee Chairman A. Sivanesan, PASAK Director Aldrin Ng and heads of departments and agencies.
Dato' Seri Saarani added that when TVET is empowered, he expects more youth to choose the TVET stream as a learning and career path.
"Armed with skills, not only does it make it easier for graduates to get a job, but proactively creates space or income as a job creator.
"Besides, TVET graduates also have the opportunity to become innovative and creative entrepreneurs in line with the vision of Perak Sejahtera 2030 to reduce dependence on foreign labour, and improve the quality of life and income of the people," he said.
