IPOH, 2 May 2024 - The Perak State Government has launched the Darul Ridzuan Utility Corridor (KUDR), an integrated solution that will become a One-Stop Agency (OSA) for a more planned utility management throughout the state.
Perak Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Saarani Mohamad said it was a joint initiative involving the Perak State Development Corporation (PKNPk) and local investors without financial injections from the State Government.
According to him, the setting up of KUDR is in line with the decision of the State Executive Council Meeting on 5 January 2022, based on a study of its suitability and feasibility in Perak by the State Economic Planning Unit.
"KUDR will be a facilitator in launching the process of providing utility infrastructure in the state, such as electricity, water, gas, telecommunications and sewerage systems, besides enabling the installation and maintenance of utilities to be carried out in a planned, efficient and controlled manner.
"It is also a proactive measure to deal with issues and challenges, such as the complexity of excavation permits, difficulty of authorities granting approvals and monitoring utility work, and difficulty in obtaining utility data with accurate specifications," he said.
He said this in a press conference after the Darul Ridzuan Utility Corridor (KUDR) Launch Ceremony at Casuarina@Meru here.
Also present were State Exco Members, PKNPk Chief Executive Officer Datuk Redza Rafiq Abdul Razak and KUDR Chief Executive Officer Adham Nasri Mohamad.
Dato' Seri Saarani added that the State government is confident that this innovative and inclusive approach will lead to the people’s wellbeing, and guarantee the continuity of the delivery of public facilities and services, in addition to creating new job and business opportunities.
"The people will be able to enjoy a more comfortable life, better government facilities and more guaranteed security via KUDR services.
"In line with the goals of Perak Sejahtera 2030, KUDR has developed an online system called KUDRAT to empower the digital economy, data-driven decision-making and governance of state-linked projects," he said.
In the same development, from 1 April 2024, KUDR has started accepting utility excavation applications via the KUDRAT system, and the state government welcomes the solid support of all stakeholders to make the digital transformation plan more efficient and transparent.
