The Perak Menteri Besar handing over duit raya to orphans.

IPOH, 3 May 2024 – Perak Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Saarani Mohamad and wife Datin Seri Aezer Zubin enlivened the State Government-Linked Companies’ (GLCs) Aidilfitri celebration at Laman Seri Ridzuan here.

The event was held for the first time simultaneously by all the state GLCs with an attendance of about 10,000 people.

Dato' Seri Saarani in his speech said that the event not only brought together the staff of the state GLCs, but also celebrated their customers and strategic partners in the state and abroad.

"This occasion is very special as it brings together all the entities that are the backbone of the state GLCs.

"In addition, through gatherings like this, I hope that it can strengthen the bonds of friendship and instill the spirit of kinship and unity among us," he said.

Also present were State Secretary Dato' Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim, State Legal Adviser Dato' Azmir Shah Zainal Abidin, State Financial Officer Dato' Mohd Zaki Mahyudin, State Exco Members, chief executive officers of GLCs and heads of departments and agencies.

Dato' Seri Saarani added that most state GLCs have achieved success after success in terms of increasing revenue and profits.

"For example, the Perak State Agriculture Development Corporation (SADC) has obtained an income of RM800 million and contributed up to RM55.3 million to the state government, and it is the highest figure ever recorded.

"Similarly, the Perak Water Board (LAP) has created an impressive reputation by being one of the best water management bodies in the country, receiving various recognitions," he said.

At the event, Dato' Seri Saarani presented certificates of appreciation to 12 GLCs in Perak.

Before leaving, he and his wife also handed over duit raya to orphans and visited Rumah Raya GLC.
