IPOH, 12 June 2024 - The Perak State Government has appointed 25 people to assist in preparing the Perak contingent in conjunction with the Sarawak Malaysia Games (SUKMA) XXI 2024 in August.

Perak Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Saarani Mohamad said they comprised nine Exco members, five representatives from state departments and agencies, and 11 State Sports Council Management Board Members, who have been appointed to assist in facilitating the contingent’s preparations.

He said all of them would play a role in assisting the sports management division and SUKMA Secretariat to improve operations and manage sports organisations efficiently and effectively.

"The rationale for this appointment is also for monitoring purposes before and during Sarawak SUKMA XXI 2024.

"Today's event also aims to express the Perak State Government's appreciation and recognition for the services and sacrifices of the athletes, sports enthusiasts, and Perak sports associations for their services and leadership towards the advancement of sports in the state in preparation for participating in the SUKMA games this time," he said.

He said this at a press conference after the Handing Over Ceremony of Appointment Letters to Excos, Departments and Agencies for Sarawak SUKMA XXI 2024 at the Menteri Besar's Office, Bangunan Perak Darul Ridzuan here.

Also present were State Secretary Dato' Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim, State Financial Officer Dato' Mohd Zaki Mahyudin, State Exco Members, chief executive officers of government-linked companies (GLCs) and heads of departments and agencies.
