IPOH, 4 July 2024 - The Second Meeting of the Second Year of the 15th Perak State Assembly will be held from 9 to 11 July.

Perak State Assembly Speaker Dato' Mohammad Zahir Dato' Abdul Khalid said, as usual, throughout the three-day sitting, the oral question session will be conducted for three hours.

"For this sitting, the State Assembly Secretary has received two motions from two State Assemblymen, namely the Keranji and Simpang Pulai constituencies," he said.

He said this at a special press conference at the Media Conference Room in Bangunan Perak Darul Ridzuan here.

"The first motion is the proposal to introduce a new enactment or regulation on the control of stray animals in the state by forming a special select committee comprising of the relevant assemblymen for this purpose and intention.

"The second motion is regarding the proposal to hold a special sitting to address the issues of extreme weather phenomena and climate change, as well as flash floods that will affect the lives of the people in this state.

"A total of six Assemblymen will be given the opportunity to debate each motion, three from the government and three from the opposition.

"For other members of the State Assembly, it is 15 minutes each," he said.

Also present were State Assembly Deputy Speaker Jenny Choy Tsi Jen and State Assembly Secretary Abdul Majid Abdul Rahim.
