IPOH, 6 August 2024 - State Secretary (SS) Dato' Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim officiated the Administrative and Diplomatic Service Association (PPTD) Perak Branch 1st Annual General Meeting 2024 at the Banquet Hall, Bangunan Perak Darul Ridzuan here.
In his speech as the PPTD Perak Branch chairman, he said that being an Administrative and Diplomatic Officer (PTD) is a great trust as we hold important posts in departments and play a role in formulating policies and decisions.
"As the main mover in an organisation or department, we need to welcome and continue the efforts of the Federal and State Governments with trust in ensuring that Administrative and Diplomatic Officers continue to be steadfast and maintain the image of the main service.
"PTD senior officers are role models for young officers and should show high discipline, calmness in making decisions, empathy in listening to feedback, as well as integrity and foresight in carrying out duties and trust," he said in his opening speech.
Also present were State Financial Officer Dato' Mohd Zaki Mahyudin, State Development Director Dato' Shamshuzaman Sulaiman, Deputy State Secretary (Management) Dato' Nor Sham Rahman, state and federal department heads, as well as PTD officers of Perak.
Dato' Ahmad Suaidi added that as PTD officers we need to be open-minded, positive, and ready to accept criticisms to improve ourselves.
"We must also be humble, not arrogant or greedy, and work with full dedication and loyalty in carrying out our duties.
"I call on all PTD officers to carry out their duties with full commitment and integrity, so that our scheme is not viewed with suspicion and continues to gain trust in shouldering important and strategic responsibilities in state and national administrations.
Previously, all Administrative and Diplomatic Services in each state were grouped as associations according to Region/Zone, where Perak was under the PPTD Northern Branch, comprising Perak, Kedah, Penang and Perlis.
However, in September 2022, the PPTD Working Committee 2022-2024 Session agreed to dissolve the PPTD Northern Region and establish a PPTD State Branch. This formation was to provide a more focused and targeted service to all PPTD members in each state.
