IPOH, 25 August 2024 - HRH Sultan of Perak Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah and HRH Raja Permaisuri Perak Tuanku Zara Salim graced the Programme to Instill Loyalty to the King and Country in conjunction with the National Month 2024 Prize-Giving Ceremony at Dewan Bankuet, Bangunan Perak Darul Ridzuan.

Also present were Raja Muda Perak Raja Jaafar Raja Muda Musa, HH Raja Puan Besar Perak Raja Nazhatul Shima Idris Shah, HH Raja DiHilir Perak Raja Iskandar Dzurkarnain Idris Shah, HH Raja Puan Muda Perak Tunku Soraya Abdul Halim Shah and HH Raja Kecil Besar Perak Raja Dato' Seri Azlan Muzaffar Shah Nazrin Shah.

Perak Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Saarani Mohamad and wife Datin Seri Aezer Zubin, Orang Kaya Bendahara Seri Maharaja Gen. Dato' Seri DiRaja Tan Sri (Dr.) Mohd. Zahidi Zainuddin (Rtd) and wife Toh Puan Datin Seri Diraja Puan Sri Hajah Rasiah Md. Nor, State Assembly Speaker Dato' Mohd Zahir Abdul Khalid and wife Datin Aznee Abu Samah, State Secretary Dato' Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim and wife Datin Che Fauziah Ahmad, State Legal Adviser Dato' Azmir Shah Zainal Abidin, State Financial Officer Dato' Mohd Zaki Mahyudin, State Exco Members, State Senate Member Tan Sri Dato' Seri Mohd Annuar Zaini and State Education Department Director Dato' Mohamad Fauzi Mahson also attended.

The programme, targeting students in Perak, aimed to form Malaysians with a national identity and an understanding and appreciation of the Rukun Negara 2nd principle, i.e., Loyalty to the King and Country.

To achieve this objective, various competitions were held, such as Pidato Diraja, Malay and English essay writing, poetry writing, caricature drawing, poster drawing, rhythmic speaking and choral speaking.

At the event, Sultan Nazrin presented prizes to Teoh Yu Shan from SMK Convent Taiping, the champion of the Upper Secondary School English Public Speaking Competition. Muhammad Qawiem Athif Yuzaidi from Kolej Melayu Kuala Kangsar won the Upper Secondary School Malay Public Speaking Competition.

The Sultan then presented prizes to SM Sains Bagan Datoh, the Secondary School Choral Speaking Competition champion, and SMK Malim Nawar, the Secondary School Rhythmic Speaking Competition champion. He also presented prizes to the champion of the Caricature Drawing Competition (Secondary School Category).

Meanwhile, HRH Raja Permaisuri of Perak presented prizes to Ong Yu Sin from SMK Convent Ipoh, the winner of the Upper Secondary School English Essay Writing Competition. Muhammad Shafiq Hakimi Mohd Nor Shafarin from SMK Tengku Menteri won the Upper Secondary School Malay Essay Writing Competition.

Her Royal Highness also presented prizes for the Poetry Writing Competition (Secondary School Category) and the Poster Drawing Competition (Primary School Category).
